Obituary of Luciano Figueroa

Luciano Figueroa born on February 13, 1933, 88 of Staten Island NY passed away peacefully on October 26,2021. He was the beloved husband of the late Susana Almodovar (6/12/98) and loving father of Felix Almodovar, Nilda Hernandez, Fernando Almodovar, Johnny Almodovar, Helen Almodovar, Awilda Barfield, Irma Almodovar-Nieves and Arlene Almodovar Calderon. Eight children who loved him immensely. Devoted Father In Law of Hector Hernandez, Derick Barfield, Luis Calderon. Loving grandfather (great grandfather) of his grandchildren . Shawn, Eric, Tito Jr. Tara, Shannon, Hector, Fernando, Nicky, Louis, Jacinda, Louie Jr. Karen, Anthony and the rest of our extended family. Including Betsy Figueroa, Junito Figueroa and Elfrieda Figueroa who were his beloved nieces and nephews. Luciano was born in Naguabo Puerto Rico, however, lived in Brooklyn New York with his family then moved to Staten Island in his later years. He was a hard working man who did everything he could to be the best father figure, provider and husband. Never missed a beat!! He was funny, happy go lucky, a great dancer and lover of music. Loved to hang out with his friends and family playing dominos. Whether it was outside on the sidewalks of Red Hook Brooklyn or inside the apartment on Bush Street. If he wasn't playing dominos he was always under his car fixing it. He was a self trained mechanic as well. We all remember as if it was yesterday. Never a dull moment when he was around. We would take weekend trips to Coney Island and the beaches with friends and extended family. Packed a bunch of food and off we went on the weekends. Luciano Figueroa was an honorable man with a heart larger than life. We will always honor him and cherish the time we had with him. We are in debt to him for all the great memories that he created for us. Fun times and struggle times as well. But we were a family who stuck together. Loved forever. Miss you forever!! You will never be forgotten. Sleep with the angels, rest peacefully and don't let mom beat you in dominos. Remember, she cheats. LOL RIP Mommy and Daddy. May God be with you and bless you always. Visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Thursday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday at 10:00 am, followed by interment in Ocean View Cemetery.
