Obituary of Joseph A. Palumbo Jr.

Joseph A. Palumbo Jr, 89, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Marie (nee Bernardi) for 64 years; loving father of Joseph P. Palumbo and his wife Mary, Lisa Palumbo, and Dean Palumbo and his wife Jacqueline; cherished grandfather of Joseph and his wife Christina, Anthony , Michael and his wife Lisa, Nicholas, Dean and Alexandra; devoted great-grandfather of Joseph, Giulietta, Anthony and Michael; dear brother of Mary and the late Dominic. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Joseph was born and raised in Brooklyn, and graduated from Alexander Hamilton High School. After high school he enlisted and proudly served in the Air Force, as a Staff Sergeant, during the Korean War, spending three years in Germany. He was a member of the VFW of Bay Ridge-Atene Post No. 7173. He was the owner of a night club/Restaurant for many years. He was a devoted family man, who was a very big sports fan. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Wednesday, 11/3, departing at 10:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Child R.C. Church at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow in Moravian Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, 11/2, from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
