He is survived by his nieces and nephew; Frances Guarella and her husband Pasquale, Teresa Lepore and her husband Antonio, Salvatore Provenzano and his wife Giovanna. He was admired and loved by his grand nieces and nephews; Nicole Zenker and her husband Daniel (children Dylan and Logan), Peter Guarella and his wife Danielle, Michael and Christian Provenzano, Francesca, Joseph and Daniella Lepore; fond nephew of Ruth Monthie and her husband Martin. Mr. Provenzano was born in Glasco, NY on March 31, 1934 and raised in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn, NY. He was a member of the Armed Forces at the end of the Korean War. Subsequent to his service time, Sal began his professional career as a bartender, working at places in the NYC Metro area such as The Gaslight Club, and the First Class Lounges at JFK Airport for Eastern Airlines/TWA. He eventually settled back in the Kingston region of New York and became a successful restauranteur. Sports, specifically baseball and golf, were his passion. He was an avid golfer and loved his New York baseball teams. Sal was a family man, patriarch, mentor and role model to all members of his family. As the family grew, he always made it a part of his daily life, to stay connected with his son, nieces, nephews and their families. He was a charismatic, gregarious man that was loved by everyone. His genuine sense of caring for every person he engaged with, was his blessing to all. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, departing at 10:00 am.
