Obituary of Salvatore Musumeci

Salvatore Musumeci, 78, of New Springville, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2017 at Staten Island University Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (nee Kelly) for 49 years; loving father of Salvatore Musumeci, and Karen Musumeci-Nolte and her husband, Kevin Nolte; cherished grandfather of Kaitlyn, Kristi, and Michael Nolte; dear brother of John Musumeci and his wife, Lily. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Salvatore was born in Brooklyn on July 13, 1939. He was raised there, where he graduated from High School and attended college. Salvatore proudly went on to serve in the United States Army, during the Cold War Era, stationed in Germany, on the Czech Border. He worked his entire career at Citibank, holding various positions, before retiring in 2001. He relocated to Staten Island in 1982, settling in New Springville. In his spare time, Sal enjoyed gardening, rooting for the NY Yankees, and watching old movies. He loved to be surrounded by family and excellent food. Sal was very lucky to make close friends during his youth and keep them throughout his entire life, and was considered by all to be an honest, loyal, and loving man.
