Obituary of Emilia Caprioni

Emilia Caprioni (Iezzi), 92, of Meiers Corners passed away peacefully on November 29, 2021. She was the loving wife of the late Enrico (1976) and beloved companion of Joseph Musto; devoted mother of Lori Buccellato and Ricky Caprioni; cherished grandmother of Marissa, Kristina, Gabriella, Michael, Frankie and Nicholas. She was preceded in death by her five siblings. She was a devoted aunt to Nellie and Joe and their children Nadine and Dino. Emilia also had a close bond with Josephine Selvaggio, Lucy and Anthony Romano and Angelo and Liz Musto, along with their children. She also cherished her neighbors, Denise and Dick and their family, who became an extension of her family. Ms. Caprioni was born in Giulianova, Italy in 1929, and came to the United States at age 18, to live with her brother Tony. For most of her married life Emilia was a homemaker, and at a later age she entered the workforce as a part-time gift wrapper at The Luggage Shop on New Dorp Lane. Emilia enjoyed life to the fullest where she loved to dance, sing, and entertain her family where she wowed them with her delicious cooking, and also occasionally enjoyed a nice glass of wine. She also loved to travel to Atlantic City with Joe. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, departing at 9:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rita's R.C. Church at 10:00 am. Interment to follow in Ocean View Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday from 4:00 to 9:00 pm.
