Obituary of August "Gus" Beck

On Saturday, December 4, 2021, August "Gus" Beck, devoted husband, and loving father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away at the age of 89. August was born in Germany, to Max and Hilda Beck. He was a true family man who was adored by his whole family. He is the beloved husband of the late Rita (2020); loving father of Michael, Thomas and Steven; fond father-in-law of Phyllis, Colette and Christine; cherished grandfather of Jennie, Melissa, Thomas, Michael, Christopher, Stephanie, Krystin and Michael, and four great-grandchildren, Beckett, Everly, Emelia and Aria, with more to come. August was born in Germany and emigrated at the age of 18 to the United States, settling in Buffalo, NY, and then proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant, stationed on Staten Island, where he met his future wife Rita. Mr. Beck loved working with and being with his family and spending the winters in Fort Lauderdale, with his wife Rita. Rita and Gus's extraordinary relationship inspired everyone around them. Gus and Rita built a beautiful life and were loved as both individuals and a couple, even being crowned the King and Queen of the Valentine's Day dance in their community in Florida.
