Obituary of Eileen J. McGuire

Eileen McGuire (formerly Eileen Bruen), 85, of Pleasant Plains in Staten Island New York, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2021. Daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Kreis, Eileen was one of three children, predeceased by her sister Betty Koster and brother Henry "Sonny" Kreis. A mother of five, she is survived by her sons, Richard and William Bruen, daughters, Helene Desiderio and Julia Folasco, and predeceased by her daughter Colleen Bruen-Brady. Eileen is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Eileen was a graduate of Tottenville High School. She was a homemaker and a creative spirit. An exceptional artist, Eileen regularly practiced her passion for drawing, needlepoint and crocheting. Few things brought her more joy than gardening, or spending a day at the beach with her beloved late husband, John Myles McGuire. Funeral will be from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Monday, 12/13, following a short service for family and friends at 10:00 AM. Visitors will also be welcomed for the viewing on Sunday, 12/12, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
