Obituary of Linda C. Marsh

Our precious mother, Linda C. Marsh (née Posniak), 69, of Arden Heights, Staten Island, formerly of Travis, Staten Island, passed away on December 13th, 2021. She devoted her life to her three children, Stacy (Eric) Decker, John (Kim) Marsh, and Mandi (Michael) Lawrence and was cherished by her four grandchildren: Eric John Decker, Lyla Rae Marsh, John Vincent Marsh and Evelynne Rose Lawrence. She was a beloved sister to Karen Krawczyk and adored aunt to her nieces and nephews. Linda is reunited with her parents Stella and Vincent Posniak and brother Vincent Posniak in heaven. Linda was born and raised in Travis. Growing up, she was an acclaimed athlete winning numerous awards through the NYC Department of Parks at Schmul Park. Her love of sports continued throughout her life; as an adult, she was an outstanding softball player in the ASA Women's League and avid bowler and high scorer in her Tuesday Morning Ladies League. She delighted in all things sports: baseball, basketball, football and especially the Little League World Series. She was a die hard Yankees fan who never missed a game. Linda recently retired from Richmond University Medical Center as a unit clerk, a job she loved dearly. She enjoyed going to church and walking but her favorite place to be was the beach. She lived up to the saying "leave the world a better place than you find it". She touched everyone she met with her sweet and gentle soul. There are no words to capture the joy she brought, the love she spread or the void she leaves. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 2508 Victory Blvd. on Saturday, 12/18/2021 departing at 9:45 AM. Funeral Mass will be held in St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church at 10:30 AM. A private cremation will follow. Family and friends may visit on Friday, 12/17/2021, from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. On Tuesday, 12/28/2021, Linda’s urn will be interred in Resurrection Cemetery at 12:00 PM.
