Obituary of Steven R. DeCore

Steven DeCore, 62, of Staten Island, NY passed away on December 27, 2021. He was the beloved brother of Grace Vivian Crowdell and her late husband James, Elaine Torres and her husband Joseph and Ronald DeCore; cherished uncle of James (Patricia) Crowdell, John (Danielle) Crowdell, Anthony (Susan) Crowdell, Christine Crowdell, Joseph (Jacqueline) Torres and Lauren Torres. He was also survived by many grand nieces and nephews. Steve was a native Staten Islander, born and raised in Westerleigh. He was a graduate of Port Richmond High School and attended the College of Staten Island. He was self employed as a customs broker. Steve enjoyed sports and was an avid Mets and Jets fan. He also enjoyed cars, good food, and spending time with family, especially the children. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard on Sunday, January 2 from 2:00 to 6:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church on Monday, January 3 at 10:00am. Interment to follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
