Obituary of Daniel T. D'Antoni

Daniel Thomas D’Antoni, affectionately known as “Nipps”, was born in Staten Island, NY on January 24th, 1975 to his loving parents Emil and Julie D’Antoni. “Baby Danny” was the last of their four children. As a child, Danny loved to wrestle, no matter how big or small his opponent was. A mischievous but absolutely adorable little boy, he would break things in the house and run around in the nude. He loved football, softball, and animals – especially cats. Danny attended P.S. 30, I.S. 72, and graduated from Port Richmond High School in 1994. In his early years he worked at Pathmark, United Cerebral Palsy, National Grid where he would work for 20+ years and meet lifelong friends that became family. He met the love of his life, Jennifer Turner, while working together at UCP. They married on September 7th, 2002, at Blessed Sacrament followed by a beautiful reception at the Hilton. For their honeymoon they went on a cruise and continued cruising along with attending Dave Matthews concerts throughout their loving marriage. They would celebrate their 20th anniversary this year. Danny was a devoted Giants and Mets fan and loved to attend sporting events. Heavy metal was his choice of music and he loved to attend concerts with his friends and wife. He enjoyed gatherings with his family where he was the life of the party. He also loved binge-watching television series. His favorite show of all time was Game of Thrones, and he wouldn’t let you forget it! Danny had a huge heart, one-of-a kind personality, and could put a smile on anyone’s face. He devoted his life to caring for his sweet Jenn who he nicknamed “Giggs” because he loved to hear her giggle. On January 23rd 2022, the day before his 47th birthday, he passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home. He is survived by his parents, Emil D’Antoni, Julie D’Antoni-Amitrano, and Daniel “Meatball” Amitrano; his wife Jennifer D’Antoni; his mother-in-law Kathy Turner; his siblings Michael, Gina, and Emil “Moe”; and his sibling-in-laws Maria, Chuck, Jeffre, Dave, and Renee; his aunts and uncles Elsie, Martin, Eddie, Ricky, and Lorraine. He also has a handful of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly, Lisette, Alexis, Jordan, Michelle, Julia, Jayden, CJ, Colin, and Brynn. Danny will be missed profoundly and we will cherish our memories with him forever. Visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Wednesday, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A service is scheduled for Thursday at 12:15 pm in the funeral home, with a committal service to follow in Rosehill Crematory, Linden, NJ. Due to the Governor’s mandate, all visitors must wear masks!
