Carmine A. DeRoss Jr., age 83, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2022. He was the devoted son of the late Carmine A. DeRoss Sr. (Skippy) and the late Rose DeRoss (nee Aloi). He was the beloved husband of Lois (nee Sheehy). He was the loving father of sons, Joseph DeRoss and Carmine DeRoss III and daughter, Sherri DeRoss-Siconolfi (Paul). He was the cherished grandfather of Angela, Carmine IV, Anthony, Vincent, Paul, Lauren, Jenna, Joey and Brooke and dear great grandfather of Darla. He was the fond brother of John (Jackie) DeRoss and the late Phyllis Antonelli. He was the beloved Uncle “Junior” to his nieces and nephews. Carmine was born and raised in Midland Beach, Staten Island. He was a bartender at the family’s establishment (Millways). Carmine was a proud Korean War Veteran who served his country honorably. He worked as a Carpenter in Local 20. Carmine was a dedicated Firefighter for 33 years and Staten Island Trustee for 16 years. His working career concluded at Ladder 85. After retirement, Carmine enjoyed raising and breeding exotic birds. In his younger years, he was a harness racer at various racetracks in the New York and New Jersey area. Carmine put his heart and soul into everything he did and had a strong work ethic throughout his life.
