Obituary of Richard Listwon

Richard John Listwon was born on August 29, 1952 to Leon and Margaret Listwon in Bronx, NY. Soon after, the family moved to Washingtonville, NY where Richard graduated from High School. After graduating from high school he decided to attend college in Idaho and study forestry. He was also a great cook and worked at Silver Lake Golf Course, North Shore Coffee, and The Craft House in Tompkinsville. Richard’s favorite way to enjoy the outdoors was fishing. He could talk about it for hours and explain different techniques on how to cast a line and the importance of choosing the right bait. If he was indoors he was often cooking or making wine. He made wine out of every kind of fruit, even bananas! Rich always wanted to make sure he was doing things correctly, and did research for any project or challenge and then set-out to do it! He had a good eye for do-it-yourself projects. So, whether it was building shelves, arranging art in their home, or surprising his wife with sewing skills, anything you needed to have done, Rich found a way to do it. The greatest love Rich had was his love for Jehovah God. He dedicated his life to Jehovah on August 1, 1980 and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He was known not to mince words if he was talking about Jehovah. He was always striving to reach each person’s heart with God’s Kingdom message so that they would understand how to be a part of a world with perfect health, peace, and no end to life on earth. Many close to him knew him as “Richie” and will miss him very much. We know he loved his family very much. He is survived by his wife Renee Michelle for nearly 15 years. His siblings: Michael, Mary, Noreen, Laura, April, Vincent (pre-deceased), Jennifer, Margaret (pre-deceased). His children: Chris, Shea, Sammy, Melanie, Scott (pre-deceased). As well as many grandchildren, nieces, nephews. We can look forward to seeing him soon when Jesus will say: “Richard come out!”
