Obituary of Marion Cruz

Marion Cruz (nee Magdalena) age 91, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank of 36 years. She was the loving mother of Marilyn Apicos and Henry Cruz (Beth). Marion was the dear grandma of Erika Curry (Matt), Stefanie Gigante (Anthony), Suzanne Apicos and Elizabeth Cruz. She was the devoted great grandma of Juliana, Lauren, Amaya, Jackson, Marcus, Ian and Christopher. Marion was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She worked as a secretary in an accounting firm and later moved in 1964 to Eltingville in Staten Island, NY. In 2017, she moved to the Silverlake area of Staten Island. Marion enjoyed traveling with her husband, singing along to 1940's and 1950's classic songs and she loved doing the New York Times crossword puzzle in ink! After her husband, Frank passed away she turned most of her attention to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marion's presence will be sorely missed along with her singing and wonderful cooking. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home Inc., 2508 Victory Blvd. on Monday, 2/28/2022, funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Sunday, 2/27/2022, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM.
