Obituary of Theresa Iasiello

Theresa Iasiello (nee DelPrete) age 101, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Iasiello. Theresa was the loving mother of Josephine Iasiello-Mathies (Fred) and Bernard Iasiello (Mary). She was the cherished grandmother of Christopher Iasiello (Luisa), Catherine Iasiello (Donato Aceto) and Elizabeth Colletti (Gregory). Theresa was the dear great grandmother of Oscar Aceto, James Aceto, Carmela Colletti and Salvatore Colletti. She was the fond sister of Josephine Senatore and her late husband Anthony, the late Mary DelPrete and the late Peter Luciano. Theresa was born in Manhattan on Mott Street and later moved to New Brighton on Staten Island where her mother and father opened an Italian American Grocery Store. She attended and graduated from Curtis High School and later met the love of her life Joseph Iasiello and married while Joseph was in the Army. They were blessed with two children, Josephine and Bernard. Theresa was an amazing cook who enjoyed hosting family gatherings, holiday parties and spending time with those closest to her. In fact, her cooking was so wonderful she entered the Staten Island Cookbook Contest and won the appetizer category with her stuffed mushroom recipe. In her spare time, Theresa enjoyed bowling competitively with her friends in a Staten Island Bowling League. She was also a talented seamstress, sewing and knitting. Theresa and Joseph loved ballroom dancing and enjoyed traveling around the country. Theresa will be remembered as a family-oriented woman who cared deeply for her family and friends.
