Obituary of Beverly Roberts

Beverly Roberts, 80, of Grymes Hill, passed away peacefully at her home on March 14, 2022. She was the beloved daughter of the late John and Ethel “Mickey” Ruberto. Beverly was the beloved wife of the late Mehboob Roberts (2000); loving mother of Lisa Roberts, Robert John Roberts, Dr. Steven Roberts, his wife Amber, and Lorene Roberts; loving grandmother of Frankie, Danielle, Christina, Kate, Chloe, Sophia, and Ava; cherished great-grandmother of Joseph, James, Leanne Beverly, Craig, Charles and Christopher; dear sister of Mary-Beth Ruberto-Hayes, the late Anita “Sissy” Romano, the late John “Sonny” Ruberto, and the late Diane Marrocco. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Roberts was born and raised on Staten Island and graduated from Curtis High School. She was employed by the former St. Vincent’s Hospital as a Registrar for 33 years, before retiring in 2004. Beverly was an avid NY Mets fan, enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, reading her entertainment magazines, going out to dinner and movies with her family and friends, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family, or in her “Castle” with her pets. She was extremely selfless as she put her children and family first. Bev was caring and giving to all, such as working two jobs to support her children and grandchildren and even directed her family to place her funeral flowers on neighboring family and friend’s graves. As a mother, grandmother, and a great-grandmother, Beverly went above and beyond in helping her family in all aspects of life. She will be remembered for generations to come. “And that’s it!” Visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 10:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 am, with interment to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery
