Obituary of Catherine Trentacoste

Catherine Trentacoste, 99, of Staten Island, NY, formerly of Brooklyn, passed away peacefully at Richmond University Medical Center on March 16, 2022. She was the beloved wife of deceased John Trentacoste after 70 years of marriage, devoted daughters and sons in law Arlene & Jerry Feola, Amelia & Charles Maniscalco; Grandchildren Diana DiMarzio, Justin & Kristen Feola, Janine Albano, Cathy Vitale and Anthony Maniscalco. Great-grandchildren Julianna & Sabrina DiMarzio, Isabelle & Jocelyn Feola, Joey, Luciana & Charlie Vitale, Bobby, Gianna & Lexi Albano, and Nicolette, Charlie & Antonia Maniscalco. Mrs. Trentacoste was born and raised in Brooklyn where she graduated from Lafayette High School. She then relocated to Staten Island with her husband. She was a secretary for the Army Air Corp while her husband was stationed in South Carolina during World War II. After raising her daughters, she returned to work and retired from Fort Wadsworth Naval Station working as a secretary for the Naval Support Services. In lieu of flowers, family has requested that donations be made in her name to the Seton Foundation For Learning, 315 Arlene Street, Staten Island, NY 10314. Visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, from 3:00 to 9:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 10:30 am, with entombment to follow in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens.
