Obituary of Eleanor Frances Fergersen

Eleanor Frances Connell Fergersen, 92, of Westerleigh devoted mother of Wayne Fergersen, Lori Lombardi, and Lynne DeFazio passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022. She was the loving wife of the late William Fergersen who predeceased her in 1996. Fond mother in law of Michael C. Lombardi and Vito DeFazio. Devoted grandmother of five grandchildren, Michael and Brandon Lombardi, Elaina, Christopher and Sabrina DeFazio. Eleanor was born in Bayridge Brooklyn, on January 29, 1930 to Frank and Eleanor Connell. She met her husband and was married on June 9, 1963. Eleanor moved to Staten Island and settled in Westerleigh in 1968 with her family of three children. She was always very involved in her children's school activities whether it be helping with reading groups in their classes or chaperoning a school trip, Eleanor was always ready to lend a helping hand when it came to her children. She would drive all three of her children to every practice of every sport that they were involved in and never missed a game. She enjoyed working in the snack stand while her children played baseball and softball. As long as she was with her children in any capacity she was involved. Eleanor was a devoted catholic who followed her faith and always put her trust in God. She would love to sing in the choir on Sundays in church as she had a beautiful voice. Eleanor will always be remembered for her kindheartedness and endless love and devotion for her children and grandchildren.
