Papa I'm so sorry I didn't know, I would have been there. You were like a father to me and you will always be remembered and loved!

With much sadness, I learned today that Lenny Labita passed away in April. We were neighbors on Demorest Avenue, Staten Island, NY for several years. Almost every family on that street was like relatives. If someone needed help, someone was there to give that help. We moved from our favorite neighborhood reluctantly. We never forgot our friends and spoke of them often. We wondered what happened to them and where they are today. Just two days ago my husband and I were talking about them and remembering the fun times we had on that street. We had a block party once and everyone loved it. Lenny, how we wish we could have seen you, Mimma and the boys before God gave you your wings. Our deepest condolences to the Labita Family. Until we meet again, may you Rest In Peace.

Uncle Lenny, I will always remember the brightness of your smile, the goodness of your soul, the way you genuinely were excited to see me in your "sea of boys" :-) I enjoyed the conversations we had and will treasure them always. You will stay in my heart because you were one gem of a man. Losing you is a significant loss to all of us. You will always be missed. We love you.

"Papa, you were such a big part of my life. You welcomed me into the family with open arms 35 years ago and were the Best father in law a girl could ask for. You were also the best Poppi to my children and Always there for Lenny, me and our children, no questions asked. You taught me so much and I will always treasure the memory of our special relationship.
In my heart I know God called you home but I will miss you so much especially our daily visits and talks over tea or coffee.
I will carry you with me until I see you again.
Love you..."

To the greatest man I’ll ever know , my father . Pop I love you so much I’ll try to remember all the things you instilled into me and be the man you would be proud of . There won’t be a day that goes by when I won’t think of you in some way . All the road trips we took together and all the laughs we had along the way. I’ll continue doing those same trips but don’t worry I won’t be alone , you will be there .

My condolences to Mima and the family . I remember him telling me how much he loved their lunches together every day. He was truly a wonderful man. The neighborhood won’t be the same without him.
