Obituary of Nicholas J. Dezelich

Nicholas J Dezelich, formerly of Annandale, S.I., passed away on March 15, at Viera Hospital in Melbourne, Florida. He and his wife Ginger had moved there in November of 2020 to retire. Nick was born and raised on S.I., in the Willowbrook area, and after they were married they moved to Annadale where they resided for 44 years. Nick served two years in the army stationed in Vietnam in service to his country. He was always proud of being a Vietnam veteran. When he returned home he started working for the New York Telephone Company as a Cable Splicer. Years later when the company split, he went over to AT&T working as a Data Computer Technician. He retired in April of 2000 with 35 years of service. He loved working on cars before they became computerized, and could do and fix almost anything on cars and in the home. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who asked. Their oldest son Nicky passed away at age 29, in 2005. Nick is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Ginger, their son David and his wife Nikki, his brother John and his wife Cathy, his sister Debbie Guenkel, and her husband Richard and many nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be held at the Matthew Funeral Home, 2508 Victory Blvd., S.I., on Thursday, May 5, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Holy Child R.C. Church, on Friday, May 6, at 10:00 am, with burial of cremated remains to follow in Moravian Cemetery.
