Obituary of Francis J. Callahan

Francis J Callahan, 81, of Bullshead Staten Island NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at SIUH on April 30 2022, after a brief illness. Mr Callahan, born in Brooklyn July 19, 1940, graduated from Chelsea Vocational HS & accepted a job at Reliance Mica Co of Sunset Park Brooklyn as a machinist. He began a career with the NYC Transit Authority as a car inspector for 28 years before retiring in 1997. Mr Callahan was an avid bowler and spent his retired years playing golf, traveling, and enjoying Forced Family Fun weekends with his family and was known as the family photo bomber. Mr Callahan was predeceased by his brother Joseph. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janet (Casale) as well as his brother Gerard & sister in law Carol. He will be deeply missed by his 3 daughters, Lisa , Michele & Janine (Davies) and his son in law Thomas. Mr Callahan is also survived by his 5 grandchildren Loriann, Dayna, Michael , Matthew , Jason & great granddaughter Leanna. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to St. Jude in his name. Family is requesting that all visitors wear a mask.
