Obituary of Benedetto "Benny" Squatrito

SQUATRITO, Benedetto”Benny” 87 passed away peacefully on May 23, 2022 at Staten Island University Hospital with his family at his side. Benny is a native Staten Islander born on May 22, 1935 to Salvatore & Lucy (nee:Stazzone). As a well respected & successful General Contractor he, alongside his son Salvatore built a client following that would last for over 60 years before retiring. Being told numerous times throughout that he has hands of gold & there was nothing they could not build. In a true gentleman like fashion he expressed his love to so many. Family meant everything! As he was well traveled, spending time on numerous family vacations along with close friends meant the world to him. As a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle & friend, the legacy that he leaves behind is one that will have a lasting impact for generations to come. In life Benedetto was predeceased by his brother Joseph & brother-in-law Angelo Varriano. Surviving is his beautiful wife of 64 years Rosemarie, son Salvatore, daughter-in-law Lisa, daughter Denise Siragusa, son-in-law Nick, four grandchildren Nicholas, Steven, Andrew & Alyssa, his sisters Saveria Varriano & Angela Martucci, Brother-in-law’s Peter Martucci, Mickey Ventrone & sister-in-law’s Ellen & Patricia. Family & friends will gather to celebrate his life at Matthew Funeral Home & Cremation Service on Thursday 5/26 from 2 - 8 PM. A Funeral Mass of Christian burial will follow on Friday 5/27 at Holy Rosary RCC 9:30 AM in the South Beach section of Staten Island. Benny will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery (Staten Island, NY)
