Obituary of Rosanne Giammarino

Rosanne Giammarino (Hefter) passed away on June 20, 2022 after a challenging year of physical ailments. Rosanne was the cherished and loving wife of Sheldon Hefter. They made a wonderful and dedicated couple with their hearts of gold. She was a devoted stepmom to Matthew and his wife Joanne, and Mitchell and his late wife Susan Hefter. She was a loving grandmother to Matthew, Rosanna, Nicholas and Michael Hefter. Rosanne was born in Brooklyn on November 25, 1950 to the late Dan and Ray Giammarino. She moved to Staten Island in 1981 as the loving and steadfast sister with Donna and Donna's late husband, Richie Santangelo. Rosanne thrived as the doting, adoring and treasured aunt of Danielle, Patrick, Richie and Danny Santangelo. She is also survived by her brother Tommy and his wife, Patricia Giammarino, and sister, Phyllis DeLuca and many dear nephews and nieces. Rosanne worked tirelessly for many years on the Trading Desk at Brean Murray Securities earning respect for the dedication with which she worked and her expertise in executing trades and handling accounts flawlessly. At home, Rosanne was renowned for her delicious baking and her traditional Italian specialties which enhanced the many celebrations of family and friends that she graced. She spent a good deal of time in prayerfulness for others as indicated by her desire to want the best for everyone she loved or even just met. Rosanne lived a faithful and fruitful life in her love of God, and her love for family and friends. Her sublime generosity was always unwavering and was further complimented by her loving heart, and her virtuous desire to make life better for every life she touched. She will be remembered as an inspiration in graciousness and benevolence and will be dearly and sorely missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Rita's R.C. Church in Rosanne's memory. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home Inc., 2508 Victory Blvd. on Friday, 6/24/2022, departing at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Rita's R.C. Church at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, 6/22/2022 and Thursday, 6/23/2022, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.
