Obituary of Carol Ann Sesny

Mrs. Carol Sesny, 77, of New Springville, passed away on June 20th, 2022. Beloved daughter of the late Raymond and Helen Poyer, she is survived by her adoring husband of 58 years, Richard Sesny (Sr.); sons Richard (Jr.) and Kevin and their spouses, Victoria and Joanna Sesny and four dear grandchildren of: Ryan, Katie, Avery, and CJ. Carol was the youngest of 5 siblings: Dorothy Herlihy, Joan Breen, and the late Raymond (Butch) Poyer, and Ellen Burns. Carol was born in Bay Ridge Hospital, Brooklyn on May 4, 1945 and lived in Bay Ridge, where she graduated from Bay Ridge High School in 1963, until 1980 before moving to Staten Island. She worked for more than a decade at the firm of J.W. Seligman and often spoke fondly of her time there. Carol was a surrogate mom to all her nieces and nephews; and was extremely close to all of their children over the years. She was a wonderful person of infinite kindness; a loving wife, and amazing mother. We will never forget her or the too-numerous-to-list acts of generosity bestowed on us during her entire life. Visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Thursday, 6/23, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A service is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Friday morning at the funeral home.
