Obituary of Nella Tribiano
Nella Tribiano (nee Dezi) passed away February 15th, 2018. She was the cherished wife of the late of Calamirro "Tony" Tribiano who passed away in Italy in 1997. Nella was the loving mother of a daughter also named Nella Tribiano and son Joseph Tribiano. She was the adored grandmother of Nadine Brown and Dino Tribiano. She is also survived by two brothers Umberto Dezi and Ottavio Dezi and many adoring nieces and nephews both in Staten Island and Italy.
Nella was born on March 11th, 1922 in Torano Nuovo, Abbruzzo Italy. She was one of 8 siblings. Nella was a survivor of World War II and always spoke of the horrific bombs falling so close to her parent's farm and how she and her sisters hid underground from the German soldiers who pillaged various towns in Italy. She relocated to Staten Island after her marriage to Tony in 1949. Together they owned and operated Hygrade Dry Cleaners in West Brighton where she worked as a seamstress. Nella enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and gardening. She was generous in feeding any one who wanted a home cooked meal. She was passionate about Italian music and singing and dancing till her later years and was never far from her radio. She was a happy person always smiling. Nella loved being comical and laughed all the time. She frequently reminisced of her life in Italy and was proud of her hard work on her parent's farm. Nella loved all children, people and enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends. She was much loved and will be missed by all.
Funeral Service at International Christian Center located at 1501 Richmond Ave Staten Island NY on Wednesday February 21st, 2018 at 1pm.
