Obituary of Frances Trovato

Please share a memory of Frances to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Frances was a devoted wife of 58 years. Their 59th Wedding anniversary, August 24th. Frances was a devoted mom to Joanne, Lorraine, Charles, and Adrianne. She instilled the importance of family values, importance of higher education, patriotism, and kindness. Chris, Christine, Paul enriched our family through marriage. She embraced and doted on her 9 grandchildren, Brittany, Samantha, Ceasar-Augustus, Chazz, Joseph-Dante, Christopher, Jack, Paul-Joseph, and Nicolas. She shared her unconditional love, guidance, advice, and the gift of great cooking. She was also blessed with two beautiful great-grandchildren Chazz & Alyssa’s Ethan and Christopher & Elise’s Penelope filled her generous heart with joy. Her favorite gathering and meal of the year was always Christmas Eve. Dad decorated for months to make a Christmas paradise for his growing family of grandchildren & great grandchildren. Frances was born in Brooklyn on her mother Josephine’s birthday. Pasquale and Josephine Palma welcomed their beautiful daughter on September 12, 1942. She was the youngest of 3 children. Her brother Frank and sister Carmela doted on her. Uncle Frank traveled the world in the Navy always sending gifts to his little sister whom he adored. Carmela passed away April of this year. She was a loving aunt to 13 nieces and nephews. It was destiny, Frances met Joseph at a Confraternity dance at Most Precious Blood Church 47th Street Bath Beach, Brooklyn. Mom and dad lived one house away from each other on Bay 44th Street. They were married at Most Precious Blood Church August 24th, 1964. Frances and Joseph began their family in Brooklyn and moved to Staten Island. She worked alongside dad at La Parisienne in, their hair salon in Brooklyn with their niece Laura always bringing beauty to Brooklynites. She worked for the NY City Board of Education as a cook, earning her associates degree at Queens Community college. She eventually worked as a Para- professional sharing her love of teaching elementary school students always incorporating art. Three of her children also entered the field of education. Fran lived a long life traveling to Italy, Israel, France. Her most memorable trip was a winter hockey tour with her niece Laura & nephew John and their 3 sons. She enjoyed fashion, Turner Classic movies, music and family gatherings. She taught her children the love of cooking and the importance of emphasizing family milestones with grand parties.
