Obituary of Jennifer Rose Recio

Jennifer Rose Recio, 28, of Staten Island, NY passed away surrounded by her immediate family on July 6, 2022. She was the beloved daughter of Josue (Josh) & Susan Recio (née Rice), cherished sister of Joanna Dorme and her husband, John, and the adored aunt of her niece & nephew, Susanna Marie and John Joshua (J.J.) Dorme. Jennifer also leaves behind her grandmother, Isabel Vera, her godparents, Francis Rice & Rosemary Lawson, as well as many loving aunts & uncles, countless cousins, all who loved her so, and her faithful dog, Riley. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Francis & Marie Rice, and her first dog, Buddy. There were so many other special people in her life – too many to mention but who know how special they were to her. Jennifer was born in Staten Island, NY, where she resided her entire life, living with her parents first in Graniteville and then Westerleigh. She graduated from the Hungerford School in 2015. Jennifer’s joy in life came from being with her family, whether it was at home, a family party, out to eat, or away on a vacation. She LOVED a cruise and was taken on many by her parents. Jennifer also enjoyed spending a week every summer since she was born at Sunny Hill Resort in the Catskills with her parents and sister, and later, brother-in-law and niece, not to mention lifelong friends who felt like family. The list of what she physically could do was a small one, but the lessons she taught and the lives that she touched were beyond measure. Her smile could light up a room and to know Jennifer was to love Jennifer. And although we know that she is finally at peace, she will be deeply missed by all. Family and Friends are welcome to visit: Wake will be held at Matthew Funeral Home, 2508 Victory Boulevard, Staten Island, NY on Tuesday, July 12th, 2-7pm. Funeral Mass will be held the following day, Wednesday, July 13th, at 10:00am at Church of Saint Rita, 281 Bradley Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10314.
