Obituary of Jo-Ann Pormigiano-Silva

Jo-Ann Pormigiano-Silva, 65, of Sunnyside passed away on July 30, 2022. Jo-Ann loved, and was loved by, her family and friends. She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Jo-Ann is survived by her father John Pormigiano, Sr. as well as her sister Nancy Vazzo and her brothers Salvatore and John, Jr. and sister in law Christina Pormigiano (née Sirignano). She is also survived by her nieces Michele Hauprich (née Vazzo), Roxanne Vazzo, Ashley, Samantha Pormigiano, Christina Masi, and nephews Salvatore, Michael, Joseph Pormigiano and Rocco Vazzo as well as eight great nieces and great nephews. Jo-Ann was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and later moved to various parts of Staten Island including Willowbrook and Sunnyside. She worked as a bookkeeper/accountant at Marvin Gold Management Co. Inc. early in her career given her meticulous nature. Her tenacity and spirited nature allowed her to thrive as a property manager later in her career. She enjoyed the beach especially Coney Island, spending time with her friends, Broadway, and cooking. Just ask anyone about her meatballs! Family and friends may visit the Matthew Funeral Home at 2508 Victory Boulevard on Tuesday, August 2nd from 2:00 to 4:00pm and from 7:00 to 9:00pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family R.C. Church at 12:00pm on Wednesday, August 3rd.
