Obituary of Elizabeth A. Pergola
Elizabeth "Liz" Pergola (nee Della-Peruta) passed away with her family at her side on August 16.
She leaves behind her loving husband of more than 50 years Anthony (Tony) as well as her three children Anthony and his wife Maureen, Joseph and his fiancée Katherine, and Jennifer Legato. She was the adoring grandmother to Anthony, Mark and Lily Pergola, Joseph and Madelyn Legato, and Griffin and Landon Paterson.
Elizabeth was born in Brooklyn in 1950 to the late Joseph and Anna Della-Peruta. She and Tony moved to the Travis Section of Staten Island in 1970 where they raised their three children and were always active members of the community.
Elizabeth was enjoying her retirement years with her many friends and hobbies. She enjoyed traveling, was an accomplished quilter, and an amazing cook and baker and extremely hard to beat at a game of Scrabble. She will be greatly missed by all who were honored to know her.

Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Saturday, departing at 9:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church at 10:00 am. Entombment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm.
