Obituary of Tadeus (Ted) J. Sienicki
Tadeus (Ted) J. Sienicki, 92, a native Staten Islander and regional director for Merck, Sharp & Dohme, died Sunday after a brief stay at Addeo Hospice Residence. Born and raised in New Brighton, Mr. Sienicki enlisted in the U.S. Navy after graduating Curtis High School. He served as a pharmacist mate in the Pacific Theater during World War II where he earned the America Theater, Victory, and Asiatic Pacific First Star medals. After the war, he returned to Staten Island relocating to Brighton Heights and Willowbrook before moving to New Jersey. He returned to Staten Island in 2013 to be closer to family.
Mr. Sienicki worked his entire career at Merck in Rahway, N.J., where he was a regional director. During his early career, he extensively traveled overseas including residing in Hong Kong and Australia. An avid reader, Mr. Sienicki also enjoyed Broadway shows. He was known as the patriarch of the family as he devoted much of his free time to them. Mr. Sienicki was the loving son of Katherine and Peter Sienicki and the beloved brother of Edmund, Frank, Henry, Walter and Joseph, all of whom predeceased him. He is survived by his nieces and nephews Barbara Meehan, Carolyn Davis, Robert, Gary and Paul Sienicki, Christine Titone, Sheila Montanti and Rosemarie Sienicki. He was predeceased by his niece Patricia Wolf. He is also survived by 15 great nieces and nephews and 14 great-great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Burial of cremains will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery on Wednesday, May 9th at 11:00AM.
