Obituary of Gregg "Jake" Jacobson

Gregg "Jake" Jacobson, 66, of Westerleigh passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer on September 7th, 2022. Beloved husband of Patricia (nee Blackburn) for 44 years, loving father of Shannon Marchese and her husband Michael, Heather Farrell and her husband Brian, Amanda MacIntyre and her husband Donald and Thomas Jacobson and his wife Megan. Cherished grandfather to Kaitlynn, Victoria, Taryn, Emma, Benjamin and Cooper. He was predeceased by his beloved granddaughter Shay Aubrey Jacobson. Gregg was the cherished son of Valerie Jacobson and the late Henry Jacobson. He was the beloved brother of Laurie McAuliffe, Jill Guerra and her husband Stephen. Adored uncle of many nieces and nephews. Gregg served as a member of the NYPD for 21 years, retiring as a Sergeant from the Manhattan South Task Force. An avid hunter and gifted craftsman, he spent his retirement years doing home improvements and carpentry for all who asked. Gregg's greatest joy in life was spending time with family and friends at his hunting home in upstate New York. Gregg was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Saturday, departing at 10:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart R.C. Church at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Arrangements include private cremation.
