Obituary of Carmen Rosa Jimenez

Carmen Rosa Jimenez, 78 of Mariners Harbor, passed away on September 19, 2022. She was the beloved wife of Gerardo Jimenez for 44 years; loving mother of Martha and Elizabeth; cherished Grandmother of Lisi Marie, Christina, Aissa, Waleska, Jeffery, Eliyaas, and Nicole; cherished great grandmother of Jaylen, Olivia, Kailani, Khloe, and Miracle. Sister to Alicia and Sara; She was predeceased by her sister Maria. She enjoyed her relationships with her entire family and friends including her many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Carmen was born in Puerto Rico in 1943 and moved to the United States as a young child with her beloved parents Juan and Evangelina Arroyo. She grew up in the bronx and eventually moved to Staten Island in 1968 where she built a life with her wonderful husband and children. She enjoyed spending time with her family and looking after her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a caregiver to multiple children in the neighborhood and always treated them as if they were her own. She was a wonderful person with a heart of gold, and a great cook. She was a devout christian and gave her life to her lord and savior Jesus Christ. Funeral will be held at Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, Staten Island. Family and friends may visit on Thursday September 22 from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00-9:00. Friday, September 23, 2022, will be departing at 10:15 am for her burial at Rosehill Cemetery, Linden, New Jersey. Services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 7:30 pm and Friday at 10:00 am.
