Obituary of Norman W. Kyee

Norman W. Kyee, 60, of Staten Island, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Rita Khaw for 37 years; loving father of Billy Kyee and his wife Jennifer Malate, Derek Kyee; cherished grandfather of Kyle, Chloe, AJ and Zachary; dear brother of Yen Fong Kyee, Jack Kyee and Randi Kyee. Mr. Kyee was a life-long Staten Islander, born in Myanmar and raised in California and New York, and attended San Francisco city college. He worked for the US Postal Office as a mail carrier, for over 30 years. In his spare-time he was avid musician and his band played for various occasions in the community for many decades. He was a classic handy man who loved to fix and build things for his own home and his children’s homes. He was well-loved and a joker in a diverse group of friends, at work, in the community and family alike throughout his well lived life. Visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Saturday, 9/24, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
