Obituary of Domenico Filingeri

Domenico Filingeri 83 of Westerleigh, passed away on September 22, 2022. He was the beloved husband to surviving wife Antonina for 53 years. He was a loving husband to Nina, father to Sal and Maria, father in-law to Eric and Tara and most of all, a loving nonno to Veronica, Christopher, Sophia, and Olivia. Domenico was a family man. He enjoyed being around everyone. Domenico was born in Italy, He got married and moved to New York in 1969. He First lived in queens then moved to Staten Island in 1973. He worked hard all his life. He enjoyed his moments with his kids and family during his free time. He also enjoyed gardening, playing cards and drinking espresso. He was loved by many because he was full of life and smiles. He would give you the shirt off his back. He was a heart of gold. We will miss him dearly. Till we meet again papa. Love you always. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Wednesday, departing at 10:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family R.C. Church at 10:30 am. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
