Obituary of Vincent Galli

Vincent J. Galli, age 76, passed away on October 5, 2022. He was the devoted son of the late Vincent and Bella Galli. He was the beloved husband of Vita (nee Cordaro) for 54 years. He was the loving father of Vincent Jr., BettyAnn Souffrin and her husband Steven, and Connie LaBarbera. He was the devoted Papa of Joseph LaBarbera Jr., Steven Souffrin Jr., Adrianna LaBarbera and Lindsey Souffrin. He was the cherished brother of the late Marie Gambale and the late Lillian DelVecchio. Vincent was born in Brooklyn, NY. He attended and graduated from William E. Grady High School. He was patriotic man who enlisted in the Marines Corp and served honorably. He married Vita Cordaro in 1968 and later moved to Staten Island where they started a family. Vincent was a union carpenter and later became a contractor in his own business. Vincent loved being on his boat, "The Vita" and was an avid fisherman. For 40 years he had his boat slip at Nichols Marina. You could always find Vincent as you walked down the main dock. He also enjoyed watching sports specifically the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Mets. Vincent will be remembered as a family man who always put them first. He was a kind, caring and selfless man who was loved and respected by all who had the pleasure to know him. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Saturday, 10/8/2022, departing at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Pity R.C. Church at 9:30 AM. Interment to follow in Moravian Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Friday, 10/7/2022, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 9:00 PM.
