Obituary of Electra Markatos

Our beloved MANA, Mother Electra Markatos who always had a heart of Gold, loved her family, God and was always there to help family and people through her love, her concern, her giving of herself and of course her great cooking and beautiful smile. We will miss the beauty, energy and happiness she bought to all of us. Born in Greece in 1931 and came to the USA in in 1958 where she obtained a long term job of over 39 years at Richmond Memorial Hospital as a nurses aid to further help people around her and worked the night shift to ensure that her sons Robert and Peter would have the opportunity to have mom besides them to help with school, church and all the activities growing up She wanted very much to be part of their lives. Electra’s husband Spiro passed away in 1999 and now our beautiful mom has left us. We will always think of her and love her and remember her beautiful life directions and love she offered. She leaves behind her two sons Robert and Peter who loved her dearly, her beautiful daughter in law June who she spent much time with, her beautiful grandchildren who she adored Jennifer , Laurie and Robert jr who had the privilege of spending much time with her growing up both at home and in travels across the USA. Her two granddaughters husbands Dimitri and Justin and her grandsons wife Marie. Her beautiful great grandchildren of Jiovanna, Jionni, Jiulianna along with her newest great grand child Evie. Mom also has a sister Sia in Canada and her children along with other close family members in USA Canada and Greece. Mom also had many close friends among them and closest to her in-laws the Nesse family who she had a close and loving relationship. Mom was loving and giving and will always be loved. Mom will be missed but never forgotten. God bless her and all of us with strength and love. May her memory be eternal. MANA you will always be loved and missed for all time Taki and Haralambos.
