Obituary of Anne R. Fairchild

Anne R. Fairchild (Nee Caccavo), age 85, of Westerleigh, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2018, at Seaview Nursing Home. She was the beloved mother of Dr. Phyllis Brown and her husband, Ed; cherished grandmother of Edward, Matthew, and Brendan; fond aunt of Pamela Caccavo-Kelly and Donald Caccavo and his wife, Marissa. Anne was born on April 1, 1932, in West Brighton. She is an alumna of St. John's Villa High School, and later obtained an Associates Degree from the College of Staten Island. Anne grew up in the family restaurant business, and worked in some of those establishments including Capital Bar, and several Roma Restaurants. Later she was employed as a Cabinet Member for the Borough President of Staten Island under Bob Connor, Anthony Gaeta, Ralph Lamberti and Guy Molinari, and retired in 1996. Ms. Fairchild was also a member of the Staten Island Democratic Party and was a model in her younger years. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening. She was also very fond of her beloved Labrador/Shepherd dog "Ginger". In lieu of flowers, donations in Anne's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Wednesday at 8:45 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Teresa's R.C. Church at 9:30 am. Interment to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family and friends will be received on Monday from 6 to 9 pm and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
