Obituary of Frances Mastrandrea

Frances Mastrandrea (nee Corse), age 94, of New Springville, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2017 at Staten Island University Hospital. She was the wife of the late Frank (2005), loving mother of Angela DiTonno and her boyfriend, Philip J. Pecoraro, the late Frank Mastrandrea, and the late John Mastrandrea; cherished grandmother of Victor Vazquez and his fiance, Thuy Hong, Melissa Palomino; devoted great-grandmother of Alexandria, Erica, Jillian, and Charlie; dear sister of Johanna Pontillo. Frances was born on January 17, 1923 in Brooklyn. She was raised there and lived most of her life there. She was a parishioner of Holy Spirit R.C. Church, in Brooklyn, and also cooked in the rectory for the priests there. Frances is described as a great cook who could make anything taste delicious, especially her meatballs. She loved being a homemaker, who also was a great seamstress, and was extremely selfless and put everyone else before her. Frances was a woman of tremendous faith and was an inspiration to everyone around her. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to Mother Theresa Foundation and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
