I feel sincerely sad that my friend, Betty Ann, has passed. Betty Ann and I met when my son, Michael, and her son, Matthew, were in the primary grades at P.S. 60. I have so many fond memories, such as spending a half hour to an hour daily at dismissal time in the school yard chatting while our children played in the school's yard. Our sons continue to be friends to this day. We also looked forward to trick-or-treating with our children every Halloween. She always made treats for the kids, such as Jello Jigglers in the shapes of pumpkins, bats, etc. in orange, purple, and black. It was always such fun attending her annual New Year's Eve parties, as well as on other occasions. Life became more difficult in the past couple of years as medical problems arose. I miss our late night chats via texts which revolved around medical issues during the past year. We would talk about pleasant things as well such as her daughter, Amanda's, Kitty and my son, Robert's, two cats. During a visit to Betty Ann at Seaview this Fall, she asked me whether I thought she would make it. I reassured her that she would. Sadly, I was incorrect and felt helpless that I could not change the course of events.
Betty Ann was one of my most kind hearted, generous friends who always had a positive outlook on people and life. I grieve for her family at this very difficult time, especially her son, Matthew, who was always there for her at a moment's notice. Also for her daughter Amanda, husband John, sister Kathy, and brothers Thom and Gerry. This is a great loss for all who loved her. I trust she is now in the company of her parents, brother Eddie, and other departed loved ones. She will live forever in our hearts and memories.

I was truly saddened to learn of the passing of this dear sweet soul. I met her through my first husband . She became my friend. I liked her from the first time I met her in Brooklyn NY. She and friend Maureen actually drove my husband and I home from our wedding reception as we didn't have a car. YES she was that kind of wonderful friend. Through the years I did attend parties and special events her home was always welcoming. She and John were always very kind. We stayed friends after my divorce and she was welcoming to my present husband Al. I knew about the many challenges she and her family faced. Besides those wonderful Christmas cards we d text and catch up a few times a year. Our most recent texts had been with regard
to medical issues . What little info I provided was met with such gratitude. Of course I wish I could have done more. I don't know what words of comfort I can possibly offer. The Rabbi says May her memory be a blessing . This is surely true because she was a blessing in life. John ,Matt Amanda Kathy , your husband Tom your brothers and the whole family- my heart goes out to you all.She is with the Angels now. I will.nevwr forget her.
