Obituary of Mirella Napoletano

Mirella Napoletano, 63, of Staten Island, NY passed away on November 10th 2022, surrounded by her loving family after losing a short but hard fought battle with cancer. She was the devoted daughter of the late Pietro & Estela Mezzacappa. Beloved wife of Sergio Napoletano Sr of 44 years and devoted mother to Daniel and daughter in-law Jessica, Sergio Jr. and daughter in-law Julie, and her daughter Julissa and fiancé Alfonso. She was a gentle and protecting grandmother to Mark, Dylan, and Benjamin, whom she called her little angels. Her sister Pier, brother in-law Tony, nephews Luca and Lorenzo rejoice in their fond memories of their loving relationship. Mirella was very close to her extended family which consisted of her many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews that she loved very much. She was born in Lima, Peru and migrated to the United States with her family in 1976. She married in 1978 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, NY. She loved ALL of her family very much and would make time to gather for dinners, parties, holidays and any chance to be together with the people she cared about most. Mirella made the most of her later years by going to concerts, visiting family in California, Florida, and new adventures in New Mexico and Sicily. She was always full of hope and determination and endless love for all of her family and friends. She leaves us with the memory of her sweet kindness and cheerful spirit to continue in her honor. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Tuesday, 11/15, departing at 10:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family R.C. Church at 10:30 am. Committal to follow at Rosehill Crematory. Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, and Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
