Obituary of Marie C. Rampulla
Born May 22, 1929, she passed peacefully on November 23, 2022, at 93 years old. Marie was born in Staten Island on one of the last farms in NYC, Fanelli Farms. She married Anthony Rampulla on November 1, 1952, and they shared over 52 years enjoying their ever-growing family until his death 18 years ago.
She was the first school secretary at PS 54 walking proudly through the doors on its first day and continuing there for many years watching over the myriad of students and being a friend to teachers, students, and parents.
She is predeceased by her husband Anthony Rampulla and her daughter Laurie Sulton.
She is survived by her son Michael Rampulla and wife Kim, her son David Rampulla and Wife Teresa, and her son-in-law Kasim Sulton.
She is survived by her Grandchildren, Alexandra and her husband Paul Adinolfi, Nicole and her husband Nick Bigam, Danielle and her husband Travis Tierno, Kasandra and her husband Michael Bernstein, Tarik Sulton, Michael Rampulla, Jr., Siena Marie Rampulla, Isobel Rose Rampulla, and Vittoria Ann Rampulla.
She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Athan Lau, Harper Victoria, Aaralyn Marie, Chloe Nicole, Briar Rose, Sonny James, Aris Sulton, Olivia Bea, Gia Grace, and Easton Joseph.
Having grown up on one of the original farms on Staten Island, she loved sharing stories of her childhood with her sisters and brothers Rose Incorvia, Anne Trishetta, Anthony Fanelli, and Eddie Fanelli and is predeceased by her brother Victor Fanelli, and Virginia Cocozello.
She loved Grandmothers club, the theater, trips to AC, and the Hallmark Channel.
Marie loved her family and was the happiest when around them, sharing dinners, stories, and crafts. She loved to cook and was known for her incredible jams and jellies, her Christmas Eve feast including Pizza, as well as delicious Sunday dinners. She was an artist at heart and was able to capture the beauty in all things and share it through her paintings.
Her smile could light a room, with an infectious sense of humor to match. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
