Obituary of Margaret "Peggyann" Ryan

Margaret A Ryan-Galeoto Peggyann, 74 passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on Saturday, December 31, 2022. She was the beloved wife for 27 years to John Galeoto and is pre deceased by her first husband of 24 years , Gary Ryan. She is the loving mom of Maggie (Derick), Sarah (Joe) and KatieLynne. She was a devoted gram to Ryan, Bridgette, Tommy and Jack. Peggyann was born on April 29, 1948, in Brooklyn, New York. She was the oldest of seven children. Joseph (deceased), Jimmy, Gerard, Tommy (deceased), Edward and Regina. She was honored to be the first graduating class of Bishop Kearney High School. After high school , Peggyann worked at Citibank as a translator for Spanish speaking clients. She moved to Staten Island in 1980, learned to drive and became active in the PS 60 PTA. She stayed active in the PTA for over 15 years. Peggyann loved to go to the beauty parlor every Friday to get her hair and nails done. She was thrilled to go to Ireland on her honeymoon with John. She worked at the Hungerford school as a teaching assistant for many years, and loved every student she worked with. She loved to host holidays in her home and have a house full of company. Peggyann was always wearing a smile, ready to sing or dance and bring a smile to someone’s face. She was like a mom to anyone who came to Gary Court. She will be extremely missed and will always be loved. Family and friends may visit January 3, 2023 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at Matthew Funeral Home 2508 Victory Blvd. Staten Island, 10314. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Pity Church, 1616 Richmond Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314 on Wednesday January 4, 2023 at 10:30 AM.
