Obituary of Diana Georgalli-Klopsis

Diana Georgalli-Klopsis, age 80, passed away on March 11, 2018, peacefully at Calvary Hospice, Brooklyn, NY. She was the beloved daughter of the late Nicholas Georgalli and late Julia Georgalli; loving mother of Dean Klopsis, Nicholas Klopsis and his wife, Paula, and Christopher Klopsis and his wife, Angela; cherished grandmother of Diana Romano and her husband, Scott, Nicholas C. Klopsis, Peter Klopsis, Gabriella Klopsis; devoted great-grandmother of Leonidas. Diana was born in Brooklyn on February 5, 1938, and lived in Fort Hamilton, Park Slope and Canarsie. Later she relocated to Staten Island. She was an alumna of Fort Hamilton High School. For many years she was employed as an Administrative Assistant in a variety of industries including shipping and real estate. She also worked in the restaurant industry for a number of years. Some of her hobbies included being involved in her church, trips to Atlantic City, knitting and scrapbooking. Most important, she loved spending time with her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations in Diana's memory may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Thursday, departing at 9:30 am. Funeral Service will be celebrated at Holy Trinity-St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church at 10 am. Interment will follow in Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 7 to 10 pm and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 pm.
