Obituary of Nimal Weerasinghe

It is with great sadness that we regret to inform you of the passing of our beloved Nimal Weerasinghe. Nimal passed away on February 9, 2023 due to natural causes. The youngest child, a Christmas baby born on December 25, 1943 to the late Don Alexis Weerasinghe and Dona Nandawathie Gunasekera. His eldest sister Greeta speaks fondly of those childhood memories on Christmas day as she reminisces of her late younger brother. During his early life Nimal enjoyed various sporting activities and also graduated from Ananda College in Colombo, Sri Lanka as a marine engineer. Shortly after receiving his degree, Nimal landed a job on a cargo ship and began traveling the world. Nimal often told people about his experience living in Greece and how beautiful it was, he even spoke the language. Nimal was known to his family and friends as humble, honest, and always a helping hand when in need. If you ever needed anything no matter what it may be, he was always one call away. His acts of kindness and love will never be forgotten. He's survived by his siblings, nieces, and nephews. Please join us to say our farewell and goodbyes to a brother, uncle, and friend.
