Obituary of Thomas Free

Thomas Free of Staten Island passed away with his family by his side on February 15,2023, after a long battle with myelofibrosis Leukemia. He was a devoted husband to Joann, a loving father to Melissa and a cherished Poppy to his grandchildren Michael Silla, Vincent Silla, Daniel Cecero, Charlotte Cecero. He is survived by his son in law Daniel Cecero, his Sister Rosemary Mahlmann and her husband William, his Brother Henry Free and his wife Mary, His Sister in law Ann Lefko and nieces and nephews. Thomas was born April 22,1954 on Staten Island , where he resided for his whole life. Thomas enjoyed working as a Petroleum Lab Technician for Charles Martin, Independent Inspectors, and Atlantic Product services where he retired from in 2020. Thomas was a die hard New York Yankee Fan who enjoyed watching and attending games with his daughter and grandchildren. Thomas also enjoyed fishing and was the master of the grill at family BBQ’s. He enjoyed life and spending time with his family. A Memorial Service will be held at Matthew Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 2508 Victory Blvd. on Saturday, 2/25/2023 at 2:00 PM. Family and friends may visit on Saturday, 2/25/2023, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM.
