Obituary of Olympia L. Meyers

Olympia L. Meyers (nee Pesce), 90, of Westerleigh, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late John F. Meyers (1982), loving mother of Stephen Meyers, Thomas Meyers (Joanne), Christopher Meyers (Myndi), Joseph Meyers (Alyce), and the late John Meyers; cherished grandmother of Vikki, Stephen, Jamie, Sophie, Bella, John, Avery, Cooper; dear sister of Connie Hermann. She was also survived by several loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Meyers born and raised on Staten Island and graduated from Port Richmond High School. She was raised in Port Richmond, married and moved to South Beach for two years, before relocating to Westerleigh. In her younger years, she worked for an insurance company in Manhattan, and then was mainly a homemaker, devoting her life to raising her five sons. After her sons were raised she worked with her husband J.F. Meyers, Inc., representing various shipping lines. Olympia's passion in life was her family and the love she had for her sons and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Monday, 3/27, departing at 10:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family R. C. Church at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Sunday, 3/26, from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
