Obituary of Pia “Peggy” Battan

Pia G. Battan, age 90, a long-time resident at Seaview Nursing Home on Staten Island, passed away on November 19, 2017. She was born Pia Gloria Cavosi on May 5th, 1927, in Brooklyn, NY, to Emilia and Riccardo Cavosi. Pia had two loving siblings, Mary and Andy, who predeceased her. Pia, best known as Auntie Peggy, was married to Oreste Battan, prior to his passing in 1987. Peggy devoted her entire working career to Dun and Bradstreet, as an Executive Secretary, along with her dedication to our Lord. Peggy not only volunteered at her local Parish, both reading and assisting the children of the elementary school, but was a Eucharistic Minister for many years. She is survived by her two nieces, Doreen Raguso and Carol Lorenz, as well as her nephew Drew Cavosi. Aunt Peg is also survived by her great nieces and great nephews, all of whom she shared a deep affection for.
