Evelyn M. Maiorano (nee Madsen), age 91, of Westerleigh, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2018 at Staten Island University Hospital, North. She was the beloved wife of the late Peter Maiorano (2006); loving mother of Pat Gouin and her husband, Bob, Sharon Capofari and her husband, Paul, Susan Cavanagh and her husband, Edward, and Peter Maiorano and his wife, Karla; cherished grandmother of 15 and devoted great-grandmother of 15; dear sister of the late Betty Madsen and the late Alice Laureno; fond sister-in-law of Isabelle Carbonella. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Maiorano was born on August 23, 1926, in Great Kills. She also lived in Port Richmond and was a graduate of Port Richmond High School. After graduation she worked for a short time at Proctor and Gamble. She married her husband Peter in 1947. After a few years of marriage, Evelyn and Peter moved to Westerleigh. Evelyn was a member of the Immanuel Union Church on Jewett Avenue. The most important part of Evelyn's life was spending time with her family. Many of the family members in the earlier years lived within two blocks of Evelyn and Peter. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (930 Willowbrook Road, Staten Island, NY 10314).
