Obituary of John G. Dantoni

John G. Dantoni, 78, passed on June 1, 2023, surrounded by his family who loved him dearly. John was born to Samuel and Helen Dantoni and raised in Staten Island, where he attended Port Richmond High School. John was a Letter Carrier with the United States Postal Service and later became an Officer with the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority where he was promoted to Sergeant. He retired from the T.B.T.A. in July 1994 after twenty-five years of service. Following retirement, John maintained an active lifestyle, caring for his grandchildren, travelling, engaging in various work endeavors, including real estate, maintaining a meticulous home and gardens, perfecting his recipes for cheesecake and pizza and, above all, devotedly caring for his wife Maria, through a progressively debilitating illness. John gave with all his heart and will always be treasured by his family. John is survived by his wife Maria (Crispino) of 57 years, his two children and their spouses, Christopher & Michelle Dantoni and Deborah and Ed Olsen, and his five grandchildren, Ella Olsen, Jessica Dantoni, Christopher Dantoni, Jr., Jake Olsen and Lea Olsen. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023, at 10:30 A.M., at the Church of the Holy Family, 366 Watchogue Road, Staten Island, NY with internment following funeral service at Resurrection Cemetery (361 Sharrot Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10305).
