Obituary of Rosaria Giaimo
Rosaria Giaimo, 96 years of age, of Staten Island, passed away peacefully at home on June 1, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Anthony Giaimo (deceased in 2009) for 55 years, loving mother of Annmarie Davenel and her husband George Davenel,
Martin Giaimo and his wife Lisa Giaimo, and cherished grandmother of four beautiful grandchildren. Her grandchildren Kathryn Davenel, Daniel Davenel, Ava Marie Giaimo, and Christian Martin Giaimo will always remember their Nonni with a sewing needle, and thimble in her hand. She is also survived by her brother, Benito Ruggiero, who lives in Florida.
Rosaria Giaimo was born on May 29, 1927 in Palermo, Sicily. She worked many years as a seamstress, and always loved designing, sewing, and tailoring clothes for herself and others. She also loved crocheting blankets, scarves, and headbands. Rosaria was very active in the Arrochar Friendship Club for many years, and was a member of
Holy Rosary Parish for over 60 years. She was very religious, and always believed in the power of prayer. Rosaria will be missed by all.
Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Tuesday, departing at 8:45 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Rosary R.C. Church at 9:30 am. Entombment to follow in Moravian Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.
