Obituary of Isabella Schiavone

Isabella Schiavone (Sue), 97 yrs. old, of Staten Island, NY passed away peacefully on June 11, 2023. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony J Schiavone, who died in 2001. She was the loving mother of Anthony P Schiavone and his wife, Angela (Cookie). She was the cherished grandmother of two adoring granddaughters, Angela and Christine and her husband Charles Turner. They were the light of her life. She was also the great-grandmother to her beautiful great-grandson, Anthony George. She was pre-deceased by her three brothers, John, Salvatore and Frank DeCicco and four sisters, Benedetta Ducatelli, Katie Taylor, Grace Andrejchak and Mary Sher. Isabella was born on July 21, 1925 in Staten Island, N.Y. She graduated from McKee Vocational High School. She worked as a seamstress at Maidenform for many years before working as a cashier at Bohack and Food Farm supermarkets until her retirement. She left Staten Island and resided in Holiday City, Toms River, NJ for seven years before returning to Staten Island, after her husband’s death, to live with her son and his family. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Thursday, departing at 9:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St. Benedicta R.C. Church at 10:00 am. Entombment to follow in Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River, NJ. Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
